NECR498 Edition 1 Peak District National Park Wildfire Risk Assessment Review (NECR498)

How to prepare and respond to the likelihood of wildfire within semi-natural habitats in England, is a subject of debate. This report reviews a set of proposals for wildfire mitigation in the English Peak District National Park.

This is an area where wildfires often occur and is subject to large numbers of visitors each year. The area also contains vegetation habitats of international importance for their contribution to biodiversity.

The report discusses the assumptions made for wildfire mitigation, the strengths and weaknesses of the approach and concludes with recommendations for further work.
