This report summarises the results of six years research (1997-2003, excluding 2000 due to the fuel crisis) designed to deliver basic data on the status, ecology and breeding biology of Callicera spinolae that would inform management advice. In each year, most of the fieldwork took place in September during the flight period. The emphasis during the early years’ was on locating breeding populations on which to base further work. Having located populations, the emphasis in the latter years was on testing the use of artificial breeding sites as a means to restore, maintain and investigate extant populations.
