Report on the oak polypore Piptoporus quercinus (syn. Buglossoporus quercinus; B. pulvinus) (ENRR458)

The oak polypore Piptoporus quercinus is a fungal species which lives preferentially on old oak hardwood. It is protected under Schedule 8 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981 and is the subject of a Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP). This report recognises that the oak polypore is under-recorded and that very little is known about this fungus. Strategies for further survey and research are recommended.
