A review of the ecology and distribution of Bombylius discolor Mikan (Diptera, Bombyliidae) (ENRR309)

This report was intended to collate existing information on Bombylius discolor, a distinctive species of bee-fly, and suggest ways in which further data can be obtained for active conservation proposals. The report concludes that B. discolor has been recorded from southern England and Wales and is known from gardens, calcareous habitats and woodlands. There was a contraction in the range of the species and the host range of the species was not adequately known.
