Habitat restoration monitoring development of monitoring methodologies within the Ouse & Alde trial areas (ENRR321)

This report presents the results of research carried out to test a habitat monitoring methodology on a range of restoration sites. Building on initial research that produced generic prescriptions for habitat monitoring, site specific monitoring prescriptions were developed and tested on restoration sites in two trial areas of the English Nature Habitat Restoration Project (Ouse Valley and Alde Estuary). Results of the monitoring were validated using conventional botanical data collected from selected sites. This report presents the results of this exercise and provides an assessment of the monitoring methodology together with recommendations for its future development.
