Black-a-Tor Copse NNR: Resurvey for Graphina pauciloculata lichen 2009 (RP1357)

A re-survey of sites on Dartmoor including Black-a tor Copse NNR, a native high altitude wood, was carried out for the lichen Graphina pauciloculata. Lichenologists have been recording the lichen flora on the reserve since the 1950s and one record of Graphina pauciloculata was found in 2002. It is thought that the open nature of the wood does not ensure the constant humidity required. It is found more frequently on nearby open moorland.
