Stiperstones NNR - Acid grassland vegetation monitoring in response to liming 2012 (RP0823)

The fourth year of a monitoring programme to assess changes in the vegetation on four fields in the Blakemoorgate and Blakemoorflat areas of the Stiperstones NNR, in response to their being limed in March 2010.

The liming was undertaken with the aim of promoting U4 Agrostis capillaris – Festuca ovina – Galium saxatile grassland vegetation appropriate to the conservation of Viola lutea. Random mini-quadrat monitoring of vegetation and pH testing to ascertain effectivness over time of liming trials.
