This project was commissioned by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee with additional funding from Natural England and Scottish Natural Heritage. The project aims to quantify how sensitive various metrics of population response to wind farm impacts are to uncertainty in population dynamics of seabird populations. To date, a number of different metrics derived from population models have been used to assess the possible consequences of proposed developments on populations. This project will consider the sensitivity of the most commonly used metrics to model assumptions about population trend, demographic parameters and density dependence.
