Stiperstones NNR - The Stiperstones NNR Red Grouse Pilot Survey 2005 (RP0688)

A method of censusing Red Grouse using tape recording was planned for February 2005 to compliment the annual survey carried out using the traditional method of counting calling territorial males within two hours of dawn. This is due to the importance of the population of The Stiperstones National Nature Reserve in county terms, and the issues surrounding the exercising of shooting rights there.
