East Dartmoor Woods & Heaths NNR : Long term surveillance of lichen species Usnea Articulata & Usnea Florida (RP2170)

A study of the lichen species Usnea Articulata and Usnea Florida.This is a repeat of a survey carried out in 2012 RP1001. It has now been extended into a long term monitoring project with 12 standard transects. Usnea Articulata & Usnea Florida are part of the East Dartmoor NNR Priority Species Surveillance project. The aim of this study is to record the abundance and distribution of the two species. The information collected will help towards further understanding of the species and how their habitat can be managed in the future for their conservation.
