Assessment of vegetation change at Thrislington Plantation National Nature Reserve, Co Durham (ENRR413)

Thrislington Plantation is the site of a well-known case of grassland translocation and has been the subject of monitoring for over 20 years. Some activities that affect vegetation are grazing and scrub control and these have been monitored. Others include succession, transplantation, fire, mowing, atmospheric deposition and climate change. The reserve has been chosen to be part of a network of sites across Britain to be used for monitoring climate change. This 2001 report reviewed the information obtained so far on vegetation change at Thrislington and maked recommendations for future monitoring.
