Golden Hoverfly - a rare british fly (IN64)

Retaining ancient trees for their dead wood fauna is now accepted but the use by insects of rot holes in more ordinary trees still has been largely overlooked. The golden hoverfly is one such species, and this leaflet explains why managers of woodlands need to take care of this spectacular fly and its breeding sites
