This leaflet,produced in consultation with the British Horse Society, is for horse and pony owners who have old meadows and pastures. These habitats are rich in wildlife and can be successfully maintained by horse grazing as long as they are managed carefully. Good conservation practice and good horse management go together and the leaflet sets out grassland management guidelines that will conserve wildlife and be beneficial for the care of horse and ponies.
