There are historical records of lichens dating back to 1922 at Wistmans Wood NNR. In 2003 a selection of long term monitoring plots were created and this report details methodology, species records for 2010 and comparisons with the original 2003 plot results. Results show that there was little change to the incidence of most notable species. The most significant change was to Cetrelia olivetorum which appears to have declined. Future long term monitoring will allow observations to be evaluated and the dynamics of the species and communities in the woodland made made on the basis of good quality data.
