This record provides Natural England’s advice on the Conservation Objectives for this European Site.

These Conservation Objectives are those referred to in the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010 as amended (‘the Habitats Regulations’) and Article 6(3) of the European Habitats Directive. The accompanying Supplementary Advice provides more detailed advice and information which enables the application and achievement of the Conservation Objectives.

The Conservation Objectives and the supporting Supplementary Advice provide a framework which should inform any ‘Habitats Regulations Assessments’ (which may include an Appropriate Assessment) that a competent authority may be required to make under the legislation referred to above. In addition, they can be used to inform any measures necessary to conserve or restore the European Site and/or to prevent the deterioration or significant disturbance of its qualifying features as required by the provisions of Articles 6(1) and 6(2) of the Habitats Directive respectively.

The Citation represents a formal description of the reasons why the site has been designated as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC). This document was part of the formal consultation with owner/occupiers and stakeholders prior to the site’s designation, and now forms part of the entry for this site in the Register of European Sites.
