Several major rivers flow into the Humber, including the Trent, Don, Aire, Ouse and Hull, thus draining one-fifth of England. This is a low;lying estuarine landscape, with extensive stretches of intertidal habitats including mudflats, salt marsh and reedbeds, coastal dunes and wetlands along the side of the estuary.
