Reports available from this page relate to the first release of data, the Soil Interim Dataset. This includes the Soil Sampling and Assessment Survey Field Manual as used by surveyors in year 1 2023-24, which provides detailed explanation of the workflows for collecting samples and field data. Also available is the Soil Laboratory Methodology which describes how soil data was generated from field samples, laboratory analysis and subsequent calculations, and the Soil Data Preparation Manual which describes the data cleaning and preparation process from initial stages to completion.
Also available from this page is the Survey Sampling Framework – survey years 1 and 2 2023/24 and 2024/25. This report comprises a review and update of the England Ecosystem Survey (EES) sampling framework for years 1 and 2 by consolidating the fundamental survey design and subsequent decisions and limitations.
