Data from 163 permanent 10 × 10m plots established in Wytham Woods were used to look for changes in abundance between 1974 and 1991 of six ground flora species: Chamerion angustifolium (fireweed), Hyacinthoides non-scriptus (bluebell), Mercurialis perennis (dog’s mercury), Pteridium aquilinum (bracken), Rubus fruticosus (bramble) and Urtica dioica (common nettle).
